BREAKING: Crystal Palace Eye Star Player Touted as ‘Best on the Field’ After Liverpool Snubs £15m Offer

Ben Doak, Liverpool’s rising star on loan at Middlesbrough, made headlines after being named the best player on the pitch during a 1-1 draw with Cardiff City. This accolade came just hours after Crystal Palace’s £15 million bid for the winger was turned down by Liverpool.

The 19-year-old, who has been a key figure in Michael Carrick’s squad, continues to impress, notching two goals and five assists this season. Doak set up Emmanuel Latte Lath’s early goal in the Cardiff clash, earning praise for his creative impact. Despite Ipswich Town also tabling a £16 million offer, Liverpool has resisted selling, valuing the young talent’s development at the Riverside Stadium over immediate gains.

Reports suggest a £30 million bid might tempt Liverpool to reconsider, but for now, they appear firm on keeping Doak in the Championship, where he has already won the EFL Young Player of the Month award for December.

Middlesbrough manager Michael Carrick praised Doak’s performances, saying, “He’s playing fantastic football and thriving both here and internationally for Scotland. It’s exciting to see his growth, but we’re focused on managing his development for the long term.”

As the January transfer window heats up, the question remains: how high will Premier League suitors go to lure this promising talent away from Liverpool?
